The Efficacy of ADHD Coaching for Adults: Using Evidence-Based Frameworks
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." (attributed to Thomas Edison)
Mira is a trained ADHD coach, licensed speech-language pathologist, and parent of two adolescents with ADHD, executive function challenges, and related-struggles. She has first-hand experience with the uncertainties, frustration, and small victories that parents and individuals with ADHD face each day. As a speech-language pathologist, Mira has more than 10 years of experience working with individuals with ADHD, executive dysfunction, learning disabilities, and language-based disorders. Mira is currently pursuing advanced training in an accredited program with the ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA). She is working towards certification from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC), organizations which require coaching professionals to meet specific competencies.
Mira is a strong proponent of a multimodal intervention approach (i.e., utilizing programs which work together to target multiple and interrelated aspects of development: cognitive, physical, social, and emotional) to promote well-being and optimize functioning. She draws on a whole person and strength-based approach to more effectively support her clients. As an ADHD coach, she facilitates reaching one's potential by providing client education and developing one's self-awareness of character strengths, motivations, and interests. Currently, Mira is actively involved in a research project on the efficacy of ADHD coaching for adults.
