The Efficacy of ADHD Coaching for Adults: Using Evidence-Based Frameworks

Ms. Weinfeld is a trained ADHD coach, licensed speech-language pathologist, and parent of two adolescents with ADHD, executive function difficulties, and related-challenges. She has first-hand experience with the uncertainties, frustration, setbacks, and victories that parents and individuals with ADHD face each day. As a speech-language pathologist, Ms. Weinfeld has more than ten years of experience working with individuals with ADHD, executive function challenges, learning disabilities, and language-based disorders. Ms. Weinfeld completed the advanced and family ADHD training offered through ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA), a program accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a licensed provider of Understanding the Impact of ADHD and Executive Function on Learning, Motivation, and Behavior©, a two-hour workshop, and Calm and Connected©, a series of six parent workshops.
Ms. Weinfeld is a strong proponent of a multimodal intervention approach (i.e., utilizing programs which work together to target multiple and interrelated aspects of development: cognitive, physical, social, and emotional) to promote well-being and optimize functioning. She draws on a whole person and strength-based approach to more effectively support her clients. As an ADHD coach, Ms. Weinfeld partners with clients helping them expand self-awareness, leverage character strengths, engage in goal-directed activities, and live a meaningful life. Currently, Ms. Weinfeld is actively involved in a research project on the efficacy of ADHD coaching for adults.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Ms. Weinfeld is a graduate of Union College and has an MBA in Health Care Accounting and Marketing from the Joseph M. Katz School of Business, University of Pittsburgh and an MS in Communication Disorders from Mercy College. Ms. Weinfeld completed the Advanced ADHD Coach Training and Fundamentals of ADHD Coaching for Families programs with the ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA).
CERTIFICATIONS AND AFFILIATIONS
Ms. Weinfeld is certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is also certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in New York and Florida. Affiliations/memberships include the ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders (APSARD), CHADD, the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Ms. Weinfeld is also a co-chair and board member of the Putnam & Vicinity Chapter of CHADD.
